Does Al Andalus GTC work with interior designers and architects?

Yes. Al Andalus GTC provides lighting consultation services for architects, interior designers and project managers, including lux level analysis, colour temperature specification and product selection for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors.

What color temperature should I use in my kitchen, bedroom, and living room?

For kitchens, a cooler white light around 4000K to 5000K is recommended for clear task visibility while cooking and food preparation. For bedrooms, a warm white around 2700K to 3000K creates a relaxing atmosphere suited to rest. For living rooms, a warm to neutral white between 2700K and 3500K works best, and tunable or dimmable fixtures let you shift between relaxed evening lighting and brighter daytime use.

What color temperature should I use for facade lighting?

Facade lighting typically uses 3000K to 4000K for a warm, inviting architectural look on residential and hospitality buildings. Commercial and corporate facades sometimes use a cooler 4000K to 5000K for a crisp, modern appearance. Consistency of color temperature across a building’s entire facade is important for a cohesive architectural result.

What is the difference between PF>0.5 and PF>0.9 in LED lighting?

Power Factor (PF) measures how efficiently a light fixture converts electrical power into usable output, on a scale up to 1.0. A PF greater than 0.9 indicates high efficiency with minimal wasted reactive power, which is typically required for commercial and large-scale installations. A PF around 0.5 is less efficient, draws more current for the same real power output, and can place additional strain on electrical infrastructure, making PF>0.9 fixtures the better long-term choice for most projects.

What does THD<10 mean for LED lighting?

THD stands for Total Harmonic Distortion, which measures how much a light fixture’s electrical draw deviates from a clean sine wave. A rating of THD less than 10% indicates low harmonic distortion, meaning the fixture draws power cleanly, causes minimal interference with other electronic equipment, and typically meets the standards required for commercial and utility-grade installations.

What does CRI>90 mean for LED lighting?

CRI stands for Color Rendering Index, which measures how accurately a light source reveals the true colors of objects compared to natural daylight, on a scale up to 100. A CRI greater than 90 is considered high quality lighting, ideal for spaces where color accuracy matters most, such as retail displays, hospitality interiors, residential living spaces, and any setting where skin tones, food, or artwork need to appear natural and true to color.
